Seventy-four percent of teachers within the 18-county Western Kentucky region are graduates of ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ State University due to the priceless academic opportunities offered by the College of Education and Human Services. Our department and programs span a variety of disciplines from elementary education, communication disorders to criminal justice. In fact, more than 1,500 ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ State students are engaged with our departments, with about 1,000 of those having already declared education as their major.
ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ State began as a teaching college and has built upon this foundation over the years with several esteemed accreditations. ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ State University was established in 1922 as one of Kentucky’s first Normal schools, designed for educator preparation.
