ӶƵ State University’s centennial book available for pre-order

MURRAY, Ky. — ӶƵ State University’s centennial book, "The Finest Place We Know," is now available for pre-order at and .
The commemorative book celebrates ӶƵ State’s 100-year story by looking back on the people, places and events which have shaped the institution’s history. A comprehensive and keepsake pictorial history, the book features hundreds of images from the University’s Pogue Special Collections Library and is accompanied by stories that explore the institution’s founding and growth over the past century, as ӶƵ State is celebrating its 100th year in 2022.
The hardcover book will be published by the University Press of Kentucky later this fall and is written by ӶƵ State President Dr. Robert L Jackson and co-authored with Sarah Marie Owens, library specialist with Pogue Special Collections and University Archives and Dr. Sean J. McLaughlin, the archives and museum director at ӶƵ State University.
A portion of book sale proceeds will go toward supporting ӶƵ State University’s Pogue Library.
“As we celebrate our centennial year throughout 2022, this wonderful book will allow readers to learn about ӶƵ State University’s unique and important history while seeing our first 100 years in both pictures and text,” ӶƵ State President Dr. Bob Jackson said. “Our campus community, alumni and supporters will thoroughly enjoy this journey through our past while helping support Pogue Library, which is one of the most iconic buildings on our campus.”
