Summer and University Break Visits

Campus visits & tours during university breaks are a little different than our regular visits.

Summer Visits

Summer visits (May through August) begin at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

While our campus tour is a walking tour, we will take all precautions to make the tour as comfortable as possible. We will provide water prior to the tour and will go into as many air conditioned buildings as possible.

Therefore, we suggest the following in order to make your visit as comfortable as possible:

  • .

  • Drink plenty of water. Avoid caffeine, which can dehydrate the body.

  • Dress for the heat. Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing. Light colors will reflect some of the sun's energy. It is also a good idea to wear wide brimmed hats or to use an umbrella. Always apply sunscreen to exposed skin. Wear comfortable walking shoes.

  • Avoid eating a large meal before you arrive. Avoid foods that are high in protein which increase metabolic heat.

Note: Because of limited times and availability of classes/professors on campus during the summer, we cannot guarantee academic department visits.

University Closures

We do not host visits during university closures.  This includes Thanksgiving Break, Winter Closure (Mid December thru January 1st), Spring Break (Mid March) and National Holidays.  We do not host Saturday visits during breaks. Visit the Visit Campus page for university closure dates.

University Break Visits

During University Breaks (Winter Break / Early to Mid December and Early to Mid January and again in March for Spring Break); when the students are not on campus, but the offices are still open; we do offer campus visits;  however, classes will be dismissed and there will be very few faculty members on campus. It will be very difficult to get any academic appointments.

Campus visits during these dates begin at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
